The Deadline Muscle
After posting weekly for the last five years, I think of work in different terms. I live by the deadline and in a way, it gets the best out of me.
Setting a deadline on myself to blog has increased my creativity and productivity. I have a blank canvas for myself and there is only one requirement:
Post by the deadline.
This single requirement forces me to think in a way I would not in a normal work setting. Only when a project is important, there’s a deadline. Those get the best out of everyone.
Imagine having a deadline weekly? Daily?!
Because of this, I believe I have a strong deadline muscle.
When I’m posting blogs regularly, not only do I have to prioritize the work, plan the blogging better among life and job, know what is important in an article, what to cut out, what to split into multiple articles, etc. There is so much going on to achieve one goal:
Post by the deadline.
I might back myself into a corner with this one rule.
Yet, I always find a way out of the corner by working my deadline muscle.
