Children and Presence
I love my children. They have taught me a new appreciation of being present, even in the roughest of times. Normally, when I would be in my own head somewhere else, they force me to be in the moment (normally, taking care of them.)
Before, I would see being present a nuisance. I wasn’t in the present moment, even with my coach telling me. My head would be off somewhere else: thinking, fantasizing, worrying, studying, analyzing, etc.
Only after being with my children after a global pandemic, I appreciate the presence they bring to my life. Where I am not in my own head somewhere else because when I’m in the present with them, life is better. I learn and experience new things (or some things all over again.)
Thank you for teaching me to be more present kids!
