2021 Review Trust

After reflecting on yesterday’s post about validating team member’s goals, I realize that is one of the responsibilities of a middle manager: helping team members achieve their goals in the organization.
As a middle manager, I can do a lot to validate whether a team member is ready or not for their goal. If not, I can coach them. If they are, I can investigate what is the process within the organization to realize their goal.
Trust
I’m excited to experience this capability with my team. They had to trust me enough to share their goals with me. The organization also has to trust my judgment in evaluating their capability for their goal.
There is a lot of trust going on: from the team member to me and the organization to me.
