Scope creep is one of the hardest things to prevent. Creep in general is even worse.

How can one prevent scope creep while being flexible?

Sprint Demonstration

Envisioning what will the team demonstrate at the end of the sprint to you and stakeholders solved the scope creep problem.

I had to see the output. Whenever someone brought up a new item, if I can’t see that in the demonstration, it’s considered for another sprint.

This helps the team push hard right to the end - they have to make things work and set things up in a demonstratable way. The team knows what to do and expectations.

Demonstrating to stakeholders gives satisfaction because they can see actual results of the sprint incrementally.
