Earth Day & Hackathons

Every Earth Day brings up great memories for me - one of them is hacking at Space Apps NYC, the first time I attended a hackathon.

This memory is great because I failed at a hackathon.

This started a journey that I think of as my second renaissance in my software career - getting back into software after a long break and where the scene changed so much that I had to re-learn everything.

When I say re-learn everything, I mean everything, such as:

friends
location
technology
industry

The only thing that carried me forward: structured problem solving that my father taught me.
