Hiring 'Fully Formed' Workers

When companies are hiring for new workers - whether from school or another company they want as “fully-formed” workers as possible.

Companies want to avoid “training workers” (because once the worker leaves, the training time, effort, and cost goes with them!.

With knowledge work, it’s in the worker’s best interest to get as much training and/or experience as possible at your current situation because all of that will go with you to your next job.

Hence, working on open source or well known technologies are key.

The next best thing you can do is work at a company with well-known on-boarding program.

As a hiring manager, I would love to get these team members because they paid price to train the worker.
