Improving Focus: Limit Focus Time

One of the most important things to improve focus is:

Limit how long you have to focus!

It seems counter intuitive - to focus more, focus less?

Yes - by focusing less, you can focus more. Focus less in a single session so you can have more focus sessions.

The brain is a muscle, just like other body parts - and the brain feels pain when worked too hard. Problem is, the brain does not have pain receptors when it’s tired

Ever notice why you can focus well at the beginning of a focus session and after awhile, your mind just wanders? Like you can focus on anything else, not the desired item?

The mind wandering is your brain protecting itself!

So, have shorter focus durations, so you’re not hurting your brain, to have more focus sessions.

There are different ways to have shorter focus sessions: timeboxing, pomorodoro, etc. Choose one that works for you!

Remember: to focus more, focus less.
