Writing Styles: Pantsers & Plotters - Plot Killer
After reading an article on writing, it made me reflect on my own writing style. You can find the first article here
Deadlines kill plotters - with a side effect of publishing an article.
Another thing that kills plotters?
Writing about technology.
Technical bloggers that write on current technology is the subject matter they work on is continuously changing. Upgrades, patches, boom, bust, new versions, deprecated version, of technology happens continuously.
Plotting in this landscape is rough.
Team members that write on technology using a plot approach burn out after initial set of posts, if they get to an initial set.
In this way, current technology just kills these types of writers.
At the same time, only because the changing technology landscape, there is a need for more writers as old writers stop. There is demand for new posts, because the technology changes.
If you will be writing about current technology and want to take the plot approach without a deadline - I recommend you plot fast.
Because you never know when you need to make a new plot.
Weekly Deadlines helped me stay publishing articles.
