Highlights: 2+2Δ Feedback
One of the best things I did in 2021 was introduce the 2+2Δ Feedback system to my team.
Originally, I wanted to get feedback from my team on how I was doing.
Not only did I get feedback from my team, they start to practice giving each other feedback. Something I did not have the opportunity until I became a manager.
As the team is currently working remote - casual interactions in the hall, at the desk, over lunch, etc. are zilch. This scheduled event provides one essence of those interactions in a remote format.
After finishing another round with the team, I did receive more feedback on how I can improve. Other team members found feedback received reinforced items from the previous round, which I find to be a good thing.
We had new team members join recently and this session gave everyone the opportunity to meet each other in a non-work focus format. Something I realize remote leaders need to allow the team to do, otherwise, the team will just work, work, work - which is good and bad. ;-)
