Motivation for: Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a feast I take seriously. I have prepared a Thanksgiving feast weeks in advance. Cooking part of the feast every night before the big day. Working backwards to the finish line.
I work so hard at Thanksgiving that I wonder if I am a cook for a living.
No, I work so hard at Thanksgiving because I had such a bad experience for one Thanksgiving that I never want me or anyone around me to have that bad experience again.
What was the experience?
The Thanksgiving experience that motivates me so much is: having Thanksgiving at a restaurant.
😱
Horrible, right?!
For me, Thanksgiving is a time of plentiful. Where I can eat so much and would have three days of leftovers, even if I didn’t cook the feast. There would always be turkey, stuffing, and potatoes.
My restaurant experience had the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and even - cranberry sauce. I just felt hungry at the end of the meal and had nothing to show for it.
That is not Thanksgiving to me!
So, that experience motivates me to cook a feast every year. Researching, strategizing, planning, executing in a way that some thinks I should open a restaurant.
And that’s exactly what motivates me for Thanksgiving.
